Hi, I'm alex
I’ve been a cleaner for over 10 years and I’ve been training in BJJ and MMA for just as long.
I started Doctor Deep Clean because I saw how many gyms were missing proper mat hygiene — and how quickly infections like staph and ringworm can shut down a team.
Now I clean mats for gyms across Brisbane, Gold Coast and beyond, helping coaches and owners create safer, cleaner training spaces for their students.
This isn’t a side hustle or a surface wipe. I do one thing and I do it properly — deep mat cleaning for combat sports gyms.

Our process
Our process is designed specifically for combat flooring, removing grime and bacteria without causing damage or leaving slippery residue.
Lift the grime
We start with a neutral detergent that’s designed for gym mats. It pulls up dirt and oils without leaving any slippery residue behind.
Scrub and extract
Our pro-grade scrubber lifts the dirt and then vacuums it up in one pass, giving your mats a proper deep clean.
Sanitize and protect
We finish with a rinse-free antibacterial mist that kills bacteria and fungi on contact. It’s the final layer of defence and peace of mind.
Bacteria spreads
Gyms are high-contact spaces. Bacteria spreads fast — especially when mats aren’t cleaned properly.
Safety and professionalism
Regular deep cleaning helps stop that from happening. It’s about safety, professionalism and doing right by your team.

Classes might shut down
Staph and ringworm aren’t just gross. They can shut down classes, damage your gym’s reputation and put your members at risk.
Longevity of Mats
Regular deep cleaning is recommended by most mat manufacturers to maintain vinyl integrity and extend lifespan.
“The mats looked brand new. You could literally see the difference after one pass with the machine.”

What is Doctor Deep Clean?
Doctor Deep Clean is a professional cleaning service that specialises in gym sanitisation. We go beyond surface-level cleaning to help you keep your space safe, hygienic, and looking its best.
How is it different from regular cleaning?
Regular mopping doesn’t penetrate deep enough to remove long-term grime, which can become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria. We use a professional-grade scrubber with hospital-grade disinfectant to agitate and extract that grime — leaving your mats truly clean, safe, and hygienic.
How often should I get a deep clean?
It depends on your goals and foot traffic. For hygiene, we recommend deep cleaning anywhere from weekly to monthly. For mat care and longevity, monthly to quarterly is ideal.
How long does a clean take?
Timing varies based on the condition of your mats, but as a guide, allow 1 hour per 100 square metres.
Do you bring your own equipment and products?
The steam function on our scrubber is optional. It hovers a few centimetres above the surface, targeting the top layer of vinyl to kill germs without affecting the adhesive beneath. We’ve never had mats damaged by the steam feature — but if you prefer, we can complete the clean without it and still achieve excellent results.
Is it safe for members to use the gym straight after a clean?
Yes — we use hospital-grade, pH-neutral products that are safe for skin contact. Training can resume once the mats are dry, typically within an hour, depending on temperature and airflow.
